The application incorporates a variety of tools aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and resilience of professionals engaged in youth care.

One key feature is the daily emotional check-in, designed to increase staff awareness of their mood and stress levels. Depending on the emotional valence of responses, the app delivers tailored feedback intended to support staff in achieving greater emotional regulation before interacting with youth. This feature also underscores the contagious nature of emotions and highlights how staff emotional expression influences their colleagues, the youth they serve, and the overall emotional climate within their organization. Additionally, staff can select weekly work-related goals rooted in research-backed behaviors that promote the social and emotional well-being of trauma-exposed youth. The app generates practical tips, strategies, and learning resources aligned with these goals, which are monitored throughout the week, with feedback provided based on self-reported progress. Users may also set daily intentions centered on qualities that foster positive relationships with youth. Each day concludes with an inspirational quote emphasizing core themes from the EQ2 curriculum, designed to motivate and prepare staff for their upcoming shifts.

The Practice Section offers an extensive array of guided visualizations, mindfulness meditations, and relaxation exercises tailored both to address the specific stresses associated with trauma-informed work and to support general stress reduction and self-care. Evidence suggests that mindfulness practices can improve individuals' capacity to manage high-stress environments effectively, thereby reducing burnout and secondary trauma. These features also provide supervisory support by offering practical scaffolding for introducing mindfulness into team routines.

The Learn Section hosts instructional videos aligned with each of the six modules of the EQ2 program.
